Welcome! I’m Farah.

A therapist who helps women slow down, soften, and reconnect with who they are beneath the overwhelm.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner based in New York with over a decade of experience in the field, including extensive training in trauma-informed care, somatic therapy, and attachment-based healing.

I support women in leadership roles, helping professions, and caretaking positions who are carrying a lot, holding it all together, and quietly burning out under the pressure. My clients are the ones everyone turns to. The planners. The problem solvers. The steady ones. But even strong women deserve space to soften.

I understand what it’s like to carry more than people realize. It’s one of the reasons I do this work.

Over the years, I’ve learned that real healing doesn’t happen through pushing, performing, or intellectualizing alone. Healing happens when your nervous system feels safe. When you feel seen, attuned to, and not rushed.

You are used to being the strong, the dependable one, the woman everyone leans on. On the outside, you’re capable and composed. But on the inside, you’re tired. Your body feels tight and overworked, your mind won’t slow down, and you’ve been carrying emotional weight no one really sees.

I understand what it’s like to hold the world together while quietly falling apart on the inside. I know how hard it can be to ask for support when you’re the person who usually provides it. You don’t have to hold everything alone anymore.

All parts of you are welcome here

My work is rooted in compassion, gentleness, and nervous system grounded care.

I create a space where you don’t have to perform, hold it together, or push through.

You get to soften here, learn how to listen inward, settle the overwhelm, and reconnect with the parts of yourself that need rest, care, and acknowledgement.

We work with your body, your emotions, and the parts of you that have been carrying too much for too long. You don’t have to be the strong one here. There’s a space for you to be supported, too.

Therapy with me is collaborative, empowering, and holistic. I integrate Somatic Experiencing, Attachment Focused EMDR, and trauma-informed relational care to help you:

  • release what your body has been holding

  • soften internal pressure

  • understand the parts of you that learned to stay strong

  • reconnect to your intuition and voice

  • build a deeper sense of inner safety and trust

You don’t have to show up with everything figured out to begin.

You don’t have to be the strong one here.

This is a space where you can finally exhale.

What it is like to work with me

My Methods

Somatic Experiencing
(SE)

Somatic Experiencing helps your body release stress, tension, and survival patterns that have been held for far too long. Instead of pushing past your feelings, we gently slow down and notice what’s happening on the inside. SE is especially supportive if you’ve been living in survival mode or feeling overwhelmed,

Attachment Focused EMDR

AF-EMDR helps you process painful memories, old patterns, and relational wounds in a way that feels safer and more supported. We work slowly with your nervous system at the center, so you can integrate past experiences without becoming overwhelmed. This approach helps if your past experiences are still impacting how safe or grounded you feel.

Client Centered & Trauma-Informed Care

You don’t have to have everything figured out to begin. I meet you where you are, with warmth and collaboration. You decide what feels most helpful to focus on, and I walk alongside you at a pace that feels safe, supportive, and empowering.

Somatic Experiencing Student Consultation

In addition to my therapy practice, I offer beginning-level Somatic Experiencing (SE) student consultation. These sessions are designed to support SE students in developing foundational somatic skills, deepening their understanding of nervous system work, and building confidence in applying SE principles with clients. If you are currently enrolled in SE training and need consultation hours or guidance, I’d be happy to support you.
